Statement on the Municipal Council meeting of 25 March 20247 octobre 20242024-10-16Statement of the Municipal Council meeting of 7 October 2024
LSAP councillor Yves Damy took the opportunity, after the presentation of the guiding principles within the framework of the Climate Pact 2.0, to ask a few questions to the external climate advisor of the municipality of Roeser. Among other things, he inquired about the measures that need to be taken to try and involve all residents of Roeser in practically implementing the guiding principles. He asked how the population is being informed (media communication) and whether the information is being communicated in different languages. He also stressed the importance of reaching children, for example, through schools, when talking about residents. For councillor Sandra Carelli, it is important to continuously update the European Charter for Equality of Women and Men at the local level. The initial charter from 2008 is being revised and brought up to date with the adoption of nine new articles, adjusting it to the standards of 2022. Regarding the purchase of four plots needed to enable the footpath and cycle path between Peppange and Crauthem, faction spokesperson Edy Reding gave the LSAP group's full support to the municipal council, as this is a crucial step towards the realisation of this important project for the municipality. He expressed his hope that now, with the municipality in possession of the necessary land, the state or the roads authority would also push the project forward and that implementation could begin soon. The price of this purchase is slightly higher but justified. Thus, another promise from the LSAP election manifesto can finally be fulfilled.
