- Our municipality is also an employer. During this term of office, 10 DAP apprenticeships for caretakers, 3 DAP apprenticeships for landscape gardeners and 2 CCP apprenticeships for gardening assistants were offered to young citizens from our municipality, a large number of whom were subsequently offered a permanent contract.
In addition, a broad range of internships have been offered:
• 69 in the SEA daycare centre (“maison relais”) and 35 in the SEA nursery, 20 in administration, 15 in the technical department and one in the traffic wardens department.
As part of the voluntary service, an initiative run by the SNJ, we have enabled 14 young people to complete an orientation internship – 12 at the daycare centre and 2 at the nursery.
- In the village centre of Peppange, as part of the “bei der aaler Schoul” intergenerational development project, temporary accommodation is also being built aimed at young people from Roeserbann, thus enabling them to stay in a communal flat at an affordable price for a limited period of time. This will help them save money to buy their own property during this period.
- An independent youth commission was also set up, which, among other things, has been providing regular bus connections to cultural events and festivals, developed the idea of a “youth bistro” and drew up the rules for the municipal “Mérite Jeunesse” youth award programme.
