- The municipality of Roeser was one of the first in Luxembourg to sign the “Pact for Living Together” in partnership with the Ministry for Family and Integration and has been actively working on its implementation ever since. In the light of solidary cohabitation, housing has been made available to both Luxembourgish citizens and non-nationals in need, but also to refugees from war-torn regions.
- Thanks to the stimulus provided by the Equal Opportunities Commission, which has been working independently for the first time, we have signed up to the “European Charter for Equality of Women and Men in Local and Regional Life” drawn up by the Council of European Municipalities and Regions. Thus, we have drafted a municipal equality plan and taken the first steps towards its implementation. As a result, agreements have already been signed with the Ministry of Equality for 2022 and 2023.
- Since June 2021, the municipality of Roeser has been an “LGBTIQ Freedom Zone”. It also declared itself a “Safe Haven Municipality” for refugees in the context of the war in Ukraine in March 2022 and as a safe place for women in March 2023. These 3 initiatives were initiated by the LSAP.
- Now that all municipal buildings have been adapted and made accessible to people with reduced mobility, improvements have been made in public spaces, both at pedestrian crossings and at bus stops. Work will continue into the next legislative period.
- In the field of the solidarity economy, the successful cooperation with the CIGL Roeserbann has been maintained. Hence, jobseekers who are unable to find work and are therefore at risk of being sidelined from society still benefit from assistance.
- The fruitful cooperation with our neighbouring municipalities of Bettembourg and Frisange in the context of the joint social office has been maintained. Ongoing construction work to expand the shared facility is progressing well.
